One full course equivalent, chosen from the following: Calculus 050a/b and either 051a/b (minimum mark of 60%) or 081a/b (minimum mark of 70%), or Applied Mathematics 026.
Linear Algebra 040a/b*
Any other 0.5 courses

Two courses (of which at least one full course must be from Arts or Social Science)

*If Statistical Sciences 024a/b is not taken in first year, it must be taken in the first term of second year. If Statistical Sciences 023a/b or Linear Algebra 040a/b are not taken in first year, they must be completed by the beginning of third year.

  1. Students intending to write the Society of Actuaries professional exams should consider taking Economics 020 and if possible, Economics 150a/b or Economics 152a/b.
  2. Students should consider taking a broad background of subjects as subsidiary courses. Some examples of suitable courses are Business 020, 257, Computer Science 026a/b, 027a/b, 031a/b, Differential Equations 215a, Applied Mathematics 261b, 325a/b, Speech 143, and Writing 101F/G.
