FACULTY OF SCIENCE
A complete first year program of which three courses must be designated as principal courses, including one course chosen from Calculus 050a/b plus 051a/b (or 081a/b with a mark of at least 85%) or Applied Mathematics 026, or the former Applied Mathematics 020, or 023a/b plus 024a/b, or the former Mathematics 027; also including Computer Science 025a/b or 026a/b, and 027a/b.
Linear Algebra 040a/b and Mathematics 060a/b are strongly recommended.
The following must be completed by the end of fourth year: Mathematics 222a, 223b (these half-courses to be taken in second year),
*Note: The former Computer Science 201 and an additional subsidiary half course may be substituted for Computer Science 210a/b, 211a/b and 212a/b/y.
Each of the above will be considered as a principal course in the year in which it is taken. At least three courses from the above list must be taken each year.
Sufficient other courses or half-courses to bring the total number of courses taken in each of the second, third, and fourth years up to five courses.
Second, Third and Fourth Years
Linear Algebra 040a/b or the former Mathematics 202a, plus Mathematics 203b;
Calculus 250a/b plus 251a/b, or the former Mathematics 204a plus 205b;
Mathematics 208a, 207a/b;
One half-course in Mathematics numbered 200 or above, if Linear Algebra 040a/b was taken (Applied Mathematics 261b may be substituted for this requirement);
2.0 courses chosen from: Mathematics 217a/b (or Mathematics 306a/b), 302a, 304a/b, 307a/b, 308a/b, (or the former Mathematics 303b); and either Mathematics 305a/b or Differential Equations 215a;
1.0 additional Mathematics course numbered 300 or above, or 1.5 Mathematics courses numbered 300 or above if Differential Equations 215a was taken.
Computer Science 208a/b, 209a/b, 210a/b, 211a/b, and 212a/b/y*;
2.0 additional Computer Science courses or equivalent numbered 300 or above. (Computer Science 305a/b is recommended.)
