FOUR-YEAR BSc HONORS BIOLOGY WITH ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE

Admission Requirements

Completion of a 3-year BSc Biology and Environmental Science program, with a minimum average of 70% in all area of concentration courses and no mark less than 60% in any of these.

Environmental Science 494F/G

Either 1.0 senior course from Groups C, D or E (as described in the three-year BSc Environmental Science program), or Environmental Science 350a/b, if not already taken, and a senior half-course from groups C, D, or E.

3.5 full-course equivalents selected from the following: Biology 204a, Biology 216b, 217b, 284a, 304a, 320y, 321F (or the former 203F), 327b (or the former 213b), 328a, Medical Biophysics 331G (formerly Biology 331G), Biology 332a, 335b, 336a, 345a, 346b, 351b, 355b, 402a, 403a, 404b, 405b, 408a, 418a (formerly Plant Sciences 402a, 403a, 404b, 452b, 408a, 418b), Biology 434b*, 436G*, 441b*, 444a (formerly Zoology 434b, 436G, 441b, 444a), Biology 450a*, 451b* (formerly Plant Sciences 450a and 451b and Zoology 450a/b and 451b), Biology 452a, 453b, 457y, 458y, (formerly Zoology 453b, 420y, 421y), Biology 495; Microbiology and Immunology 359b (formerly Biology 359b), Pharmacology and Toxicology 355a/b, 356a/b (or the former Biology 362), Biology 366b, 370b, 392a, 393b, 491E*, the former Biology 222b, 319a, Medical Biophysics 467 a/b, (formerly Biophysics 467a/b) Microbiology and Immunology 450a, Pharmacology and Toxicology 460a/b, 463a/b, (formerly Pharmacology 460a/b, 463a/b).

The fourth year program must include 2 full courses or equivalents at the 400-level, 1.5 laboratory courses, at least two full-course equivalent from among courses offered by the Department of Biology. Students must also include at least one 400-level half-course requiring substantial communication skills, which must be chosen from those courses in the list above that are marked with an *. All proposed Honors Biology with Environmental Science programs must be approved by the Coordinators of the Honors Biology Program and the Environmental Science Program, respectively.
