An introduction to some of the major medieval literary genres with particular attention to the heroic epic and the courtly romance. Texts will be read in the original Middle English. |
| Antirequisite: English 214E |
| Prerequisites:: At least 60% in a 020-level English course, and at least 60% in all subsequent English courses, or permission of the department. |
| 3 hours, half course. |
