Classical Studies 047 (or the former Classical Studies 027E) and two other courses as principal courses. With the permission of the Department of Classical Studies, a student who has not taken Classical Studies 047 (or the former Classical Studies 027E) may enter the program.
After the first year the program consists of eight Honors Classical Studies courses, Latin 002 and 020 or Greek 002 and 020 (unless taken in first year), and one Honors Latin or Greek course. Students are strongly urged to take at least one course in each language.
In place of Honors Classical Studies courses students may substitute additional Honors Latin and Greek courses and a maximum of three full courses from among Philosophy 210F/G, 372F/G, 373F/G, VAH 247E, 349F/G, 445F/G.
Students must select at least one course from each of the areas of classical history and literature and at least one from classical art, archaeology, or philosophy.
