PROGRAM INFORMATION
Entrance to MIT programs occurs in the following ways:
- First-year students registered in the MIT program may apply to the second year of the three-year BA program, provided they meet the minimum progression requirements.
- First-year students registered in the MIT program may apply to the second year of the four-year Honors or Combined Honors programs, provided they meet the minimum admission requirements.
- First-year students from other faculties or programs may apply to the second year of an MIT program, provided they meet the minimum admission requirements.
- First-year students registered in the MIT program on a part-time basis will be reviewed for admission to second year of their desired program after the completion of 3.0 full-course equivalents, provided they meet the minimum progression or admission requirements.
- Senior students from other faculties or programs may apply to the third or fourth years of an MIT program, provided they meet the minimum admission requirements. Admission is highly competitive and contingent on space availability.
- Students enrolled in the three-year BA in MIT may apply to a four-year Honors program, provided they meet the minimum admission requirements. In order to be competitive to transfer into a four-year Honors program students should have a minimum overall weighted average of 76.0% on all previous coursework completed at Western. Admission is highly competitive and contingent on space availability.
- Students from other post-secondary institutions who meet the minimum admission requirements to transfer to the University may request admission to an MIT program at the time of application. Admission is highly competitive and contingent on space availability. Students who meet the minimum admission requirements are encouraged to apply.
