European artistic culture from 1000 to 1500, contextualizing varied manifestations of the visual languages now termed "Romanesque" and "Gothic" in architecture, sculpture, stained glass, manuscripts, metalwork, and other media.

Antirequisite(s): VAH 2254F/G or VAH 2255F/G.

Prerequisite(s): 1.0 from VAH 1040 or two of VAH 1041A/B-VAH 1045A/B, Medieval Studies 1022, or both Medieval Studies 1025A/B and Medieval Studies 1026A/B, or the former Medieval Studies 1020E, or permission of the Department.
