SPECIALIZATION IN NUTRITION AND FAMILIES - BA (Human Ecology)

This module, appropriate for (but not exclusive to) those wishing to go on to a Faculty of Education, combines coursework from the Division of Food and Nutritional Sciences and the Division of Sociology and Family Studies. This program includes attaining the designation of Professional Home Economist (P.H.Ec.) post-graduation.

Admission Requirements
Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 60% with no mark below 60% in the following principal courses: Foods and Nutrition 1021 or 1030E, 1.0 from Family Studies 1000-level courses, and 1.0 from Sociology 1000-level courses or Psychology 1000.

Module
9.0 courses:

1.0 course from: any of the Family Studies 2000-level courses.
1.0 courses from: Family Studies 2300A/B, Writing 1020F/G, 2101F/G, to be taken no later than the 3rd year, and preferably during the 1st or 2nd year.
2.5 courses: Foods and Nutrition 2132A/B, 2245A/B, 3361A/B, Human Ecology 2222F/G, 2266F/G.
2.0 courses from: Human Ecology 3343A/B, 3338A/B, Psychology 2041, 2075, 2410A/B, 2054A/B.
2.5 courses from: Foods and Nutrition 3320A/B, 3348A/B, any of the Family Studies 2000- or 3000- or 4000-level courses, excluding that taken in the first category.
