Social Science (SS)
Social Science 3990 - Summer Internship
Preparatory workshops and a 4-month placement with a government, private sector or non-governmental organization to provide a practical learning experience in the summer following second or third year. Admission is competitive. Students will write a final report on work undertaken. More information is available at Social Science Career Counselling office.
Antirequisite(s):
Prerequisite(s): Permission of the Faculty of Social Science. Applicants must have an average of at least 70% and be enrolled in a Social Science Major or Specialization module.

Extra Information: Non-credit, pass/fail.
Notes: • This course cannot be included in the number of courses counted towards any degree or program. • Students will take the course in summer, May-August. • Only full-time students are eligible. • Students may not take any academic courses during the internship. Following their work term, they must be returning to full-time undergraduate studies. • Successful completion of this course will be recognized on a student’s transcript. • International students may participate in a summer co-op in Canada if they obtain an “off-campus work permit” from Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
