Science (including Biological and Medical Sciences)

  • Advanced Functions MHF4U

and two of:

  • Biology SBI4U
  • Chemistry SCH4U
  • Computer and Information Science ICS4M
  • Earth and Space Science SES4U
  • Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U) highly recommended
  • Math of Data Managment MDM4U
  • Physics SPH4U

Note: First-year Chemistry requires a minimum of Grade 11 Chemistry and is required for Biological and Medical Sciences, Chemistry and several other programs.

Social Science
Grade 12 U and M Courses Required

  • English ENG4U

Grade 12 U and M Courses Recommended

  • Advanced Functions (MHF4U) and Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U) and/or Math taken at university are necessary for Economics program.
  • All Specializations and Majors in Psychology require a University Math course. Therefore Advanced Functions (MHF4U) is highly recommended.
  • Math is helpful, as preparation for Sociology and Geography programs.

Management and Organizational Studies
Grade 12 U and M Courses Required
  • English ENG4U

and two of:

  • Advanced Functions MHF4U
  • Calculus and Vectors MCV4U
  • Math of Data Management MDM4U

Commercial Aviation Management
Grade 12 U and M Courses Required
  • English ENG4U
  • Valid Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate is required for flight.

and two of:

  • Advanced Functions MHF4U
  • Calculus and Vectors MCV4U
  • Math of Data Management MDM4U

Grade 12 U and M Courses Recommended

  • Physics SPH4U
  • Two hours of small aircraft flying time is strongly recommended for flight.

Engineering Required
Six Grade 12U or M level courses including:
  • Grade 12U English (ENG4U)
  • Grade 12U Physics (SPH4U)
  • Grade 12U Chemistry (SCH4U)
  • Grade 12U Advanced Functions (MHF4U)

Plus one of:

  • Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U) - highly recommended
  • Mathematics of Data Management (MDM4U)

  • Analysing Current Economic Issues (CIA4U)
  • Canada: History, Identity and Culture (CHI4U)

  • Students interested in the BSc program are encouraged to select one grade 12 U level Math course. Advanced Functions MHF4U is strongly recommended.

Music
Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Musical Arts

  • The Faculty's recommendation based on an informal interview and a satisfactory audition on a principal instrument at a minimum conservatory Grade VIII level. Keyboard proficiency of at least Conservatory Grade VI level for applicants whose principal instrument is not piano must be fulfilled prior to second year.

Bachelor of Arts (Music)

  • Recommendation of the Faculty on the basis of an interview.

Bachelor of Arts (Music Administrative Studies)
Grade 12 U and M Courses Required

  • English ENG4U
  • Advanced Functions MHF4U
  • The Faculty's recommendation based on an informal interview and a satisfactory audition on a principal instrument at a minimum conservatory Grade VIII level. 

Music Performance Diploma
Grade 12 U and M Courses Required

  • English ENG4U
  • Demonstrable performance level of at least Conservatory Grade X standard and evidence of exceptional performance before a jury
Nursing: Western-Fanshawe Collaborative BScN
  • The application procedure for the Western and Fanshawe streams is separate. Therefore, applicants wishing to enroll in the Western stream must apply to The University of Western Ontario (OUAC application code ENW), and those wishing to enroll in the Fanshawe stream must apply to Fanshawe College (OUAC application code ENF).

Grade 11 and 12 U and M Courses Required

  • at least 60% in each of: English ENG4U, Biology SBI4U, Chemistry SCH4U
  • and at least 60% in one of: Functions and Applications MCF3M or Functions MCR3U
Nursing: Registered Nurse Program
  • College cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher is required. All applicants are required to provide Current Certificate of Competence as Registered Nurse in Ontario.

Acceptable Secondary School Course Credits
The policy in connection with admission from OAC applicants from Ontario is qualified by a statement that credits shall not be recognized, as a basis for admission, which have been obtained from a School or Academy which has not been authorized by the Ontario Ministry of Education to issue Secondary School Honors Graduation Diplomas.
