HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN MEDIA AND THE PUBLIC INTEREST (MPI)

Enrolment in all modules in Media and the Public Interest is limited. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee that students wishing to enter any module in Media and the Public Interest will be offered enrolment.

Admission Requirements
Completion of all first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 72% in 4.0 principal courses, with no mark in any principal course below 60%, and including a minimum grade of 70% in each of Media, Information and Technoculture 1200F/G, 1500F/G and 1700F/G.

Module
9.0 courses:


3.0 courses required in second year: MIT 2000F/G, 2100F/G, 2200F/G, 2500A/B2901F/G, Writing 2121F/G.
1.0 courses required in third year: MIT 3000A/B, 3100F/G.
1.0 course required in fourth year: MIT 4999F/G and 0.5 course from MIT courses numbered 4030F/G-4039F/G.
1.0 courses: MIT 3901F/G, 3902F/G.
2.5 courses chosen from the approved list of MPI elective courses at the 2000 level or above.
0.5 course in MIT at the 2000 level or above not previously taken.

An approved list of MPI appropriate electives is available from the Faculty of Information and Media Studies.
