BScN PROGRAM FOR REGISTERED NURSES
NOTE: No new admissions will be accepted after September 2008. The program will be withdrawn effective September 2013.

Admission Requirements
Possession of minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission.

Priority consideration shall be given, all other things being equal, first to Canadian citizens and permanent residents from Ontario, and second to Canadian citizens and permanent residents from other Canadian provinces. Special consideration may be given to a student supported by the Canadian International Development Agency or a similar agency.

Professional Admission Requirements
Current Certificate of Registration as a Registered Nurse in Ontario, or in the jurisdiction in which they will be studying.

Academic Admission Requirements
College cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher.

Admissions Appeals Procedure
Following the final date for applications, applicants may file any supplementary information relevant to their application with the Registrar's Office. Decisions of the Admissions Committee are final. Applicants may request a review of the decision of the Admissions Committee, provided that such a request is based upon significant new information, pertinent to the application, and not available to the applicant prior to May 1. This request must be filed with the Program Office not later than 2 weeks after the issuance of the original decision.

2. Application forms for PT can be found at http://horizon.ouac.on.ca/western/parttime
3. The application deadline is February 15 for the class that begins the following September. All documentation must be provided by March 15. It is the student's responsibility to obtain all transcripts and required documentation to be submitted to the Admissions office.

Program
Enrolment in courses is limited and in some cases the demand exceeds that limit. The University is unable to guarantee registration in any particular course and reserves the right to withdraw course offerings.

Compulsory Nursing Courses:

Nursing 3318A/B, 3319A/B, 3322E, 3323W/X, 4412, 4499

Support Course:

Physiology 1020 or 2130

*Elective Courses:

2.5 courses; 1.0 of which may be at the 1000 level and 1.5 of which must be at the 2000 level or above.

Program Requirements
The program must be completed within five academic years calculated from registration in the first nursing course for Post RNs.

Students should consult with the Program Office, Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing for program planning and registration for each year or term.

Throughout the program, students will be expected to meet the progression requirements and maintain clinical skills from prerequisite nursing courses at a satisfactory level.
