ECONOMICS
HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN ECONOMICS

Admission Requirements
Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% with no mark less than 60% in 3.0 principal courses, including an average of 70% and no grade less than 60% in the following 2.0 courses: Economics 1020Calculus 1000A/B or the former Mathematics 030 and 0.5 course from: Calculus 1501A/B, 1301A/B or Linear Algebra 1600A/B.

Module
9.0 courses:

3.0 courses normally taken in second year: Economics 2220A/B, 2221A/B, 2222A/B, 2223A/B, 2260A/B, 2261A/B
3.0 courses normally taken in third year: Economics 2210A/B, 3313E, 3320A/B or 3316A/B, 3381A/B, plus an additional 0.5 course in Economics at the 3000 level normally taken in the second term.
3.0 courses normally taken in fourth year: 1.0 course in Economics at the 4000 level; 0.5 course from Economics 3319F/G, 3328A/B, 3329A/B, 3352A/B, 3357A/B, 3370A/B, 3371A/B; 1.5 additional courses in Economics at the 3000 or 4000 level.

Students who have completed Economics 2122A/B, 2123A/B, 2150A/B, 2151A/B, 2152A/B, 2153A/B with an average of 75% and no grade less than 70% may be admitted to the Honors Specialization in Economics and may be exempt from taking Economics 2222A/B, 2223A/B, 2260A/B, 2261A/B, 2220A/B or 2221A/B, respectively.

MAJOR IN ECONOMICS

Admission Requirements
Completion of first-year requirements, including the following courses with an average of 60% and no grade less than 60% in either subject: Economics 1020; Calculus 1000A/B or the former Mathematics 030 and 0.5 course from Calculus 1501A/B, 1301A/B or Linear Algebra 1600A/B.

6.0 courses:

3.5 courses: Economics 2210A/B, 2222A/B, 2223A/B, 2220A/B, 2221A/B, 2260A/B, 2261A/B
1.0 course: Economics 3381A/B and 3320A/B or 3316A/B
1.5 additionalcourses in Economics at the 2000 or 3000 level

Students who have completed Economics 2150A/B, 2151A/B, 2152A/B, 2153A/B with an average of 75% and no grade less than 70% may be admitted to the Major module in Economics and may be exempted from Economics 2260A/B, 2261A/B, 2220A/B or 2221A/B, respectively. Students who have completed Economics 2122A/B, 2123A/B or 2141A/B with no grade less than 70% may be exempted from Economics 2222A/B, 2223A/B or 2210A/B, respectively.

Students enrolled in a major in Economics and a major in Sociology or Health Sciences must replace Economics 2222A/B with another 0.5 course at the 2000 or 3000 level in Economics.

MAJOR IN FINANCE

Admission Requirements
Completion of first-year requirements, including the following 3.0 courses with an average of 60% and no mark less than 60%: Business Administration 1220; Economics 1020; Mathematics 1290, or Calculus 1000A/B and 0.5 course from Calculus 1501A/B, 1301A/B or Linear Algebra 1600A/B.

3.0 courses normally taken in second-year: Business Administration 2257, Economics 2220A/B, 2221A/B, 2260A/B, 2261A/B
1.5 courses: Economics 2222A/B, 2223A/B, MOS 3310A/B
1.0 course from: Economics 3371A/B, 3346A/B, Management and Organizational Studies 3312A/B
0.5 course from: Economics 3328A/B, 3329A/B, 3352A/B, 3370A/B

Note: Students pursuing the BMOS Honors degree with Major in Accounting or Major in Management and Organizational Studies together with Major in Finance may count only 1.0 course towards both Major modules. Therefore, in addition to completing the requirements of each Major module, students must select 1.0 additional course, not taken previously, from the following list, to bring the total number of different courses in both modules to 12.0: Economics 3328A/B, 3329A/B, 3346A/B, 3352A/B, 3357A/B, 3370A/B, 3371A/B, Management and Organizational Studies 3312A/B, 3360A/B, 3361A/B, 3362A/B, 3372, 4460A/B, 4461A/B.

Students pursuing the Honors BA with Major in Finance and Major in Economics may count only 1.0 course towards both Major modules. Therefore, in addition to completing the requirements of each Major, students must select 2.0 additional courses, not previously taken, from the following list, to bring the total number of different courses in both modules to 11.0: Economics 3328A/B, 3329A/B, 3346A/B, 3352A/B, 3357A/B, 3370A/B, Management and Organizational Studies 3312A/B, 3360A/B, 3361A/B, 3372, 4460A/B, 4461A/B.

MINOR IN ECONOMIC THEORY

Admission Requirements
Completion of first-year requirements, including the following 2.0 courses with a mark of at least 60%: Economics 1020; Calculus 1000A/B or the former Mathematics 030 and 0.5 course from: Calculus 1501A/B or 1301A/B or Linear Algebra 1600A/B.
