MAJOR IN MEDIA, INFORMATION AND TECHNOCULTURE

Enrolment in all modules in Media, Information and Technoculture is limited. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee that students wishing to enter any module in Media, Information and Technoculture will be offered enrolment.

Admission Requirements
Completion of all first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 68% in 4.0 principal courses, including a minimum grade of 65% in each of Media, Information and Technoculture 1200F/G, 1500A/B and 1700F/G.

Module
7.0 MIT courses:

2.5 courses required in second year: MIT 2000F/G, 2100F/G, 2200F/G, 2500A/B, Writing 2121F/G.
4.5 MIT courses at the 2000 level or above*.

Note: Students who are intending to pursue graduate studies are strongly recommended to take MIT 3000A/B: Research Methods.

*For the 4.5 MIT courses in the last item above, a maximum of 2.0 courses at the 1000 level or above may be substituted from other offerings relevant to the study of media, information and technoculture.

An approved list of substitutions is available from the Faculty of Information and Media Studies Dean's office.
