The Human Ecology programs offer an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the individual, the living unit, and the community. This approach prepares the graduates for service-oriented professions.


THREE-YEAR PROGRAMS

THREE-YEAR AND FOUR-YEAR PROGRAMS

Programs are available in:

  • Foods and Nutrition

FOUR-YEAR HONORS PROGRAMS

Programs are available in the following areas:

  • Family Studies
  • Foods and Nutrition

The student is urged to seek counselling from Human Ecology Department well in advance of registration, since specialization begins early in the programs.


Admission Requirements
Applicants Presenting the OSSD

BA (Human Ecology) programs: Grade 12 U English and Grade 11 Advanced Chemistry

BSc (Human Ecology) programs: Grade 12 U English, Biology and Chemistry plus Grade 11 Mathematics (MCR3U or MCF3M)


Progression Requirements

For progression within the 3-year or 4-year Human Ecology program, students must obtain a minimum overall average of 70% in the principal courses and a passing grade in the subsidiary courses. Students with an average of 60-69% in the principal courses may be allowed to progress by permission of the Department of Human Ecology but only under special individual circumstances.
