FOUR-YEAR BSc HONORS GENETICS


Admission Requirements

For admission to the Honors Genetics program a student must fulfil the requirements for a Three-Year BSc in Biology with an overall average of 70% in the last two years, and at least a 70% average in the five senior Biology courses which make up the area of concentration, and must include:

Biology 281b and 290F/G (with a mark of at least 70% in each)
Biology 396a/b, or one of the former 390a or the former 391b (with a mark of at least 70%)
Plus one of Biology 394a, 395a, 397b
And one of Biology 366b, 392a, 393b.


Fourth Year
Principal Courses

Biology 493 and 482 (formerly Genetics 491 and 492)
2.0 courses from: Biology 461F, 462b, 460b (formerly Genetics 411a, 412b, 413b), Biology 450F/G, 489a/b, 499E; 366b, 392a, 393b, 394a, 395a, 397b, the former Biology 387F, 451F/G, 480 (formerly Genetics 480) if not taken previously; Biochemistry 410a, Microbiology and Immunology 467b if taken prior to September 2006
Biology 440G (formerly Zoology 440b), with a maximum of 1.0 course at the 300 level.


Subsidiary Course

1.0 course offered by the Faculty of Science.
