SPECIALIZATION IN PHYSIOLOGY AND PHARMACOLOGY

This module is not intended for students wishing to pursue a research intensive training program that will lead to graduate studies.

An average of at least 70% in the previous year is required for registration in Physiology 313y and in this module.


Admission Requirements

Completion of first year requirements including the following 3.0 courses with a minimum mark of 60% in each:


1.0 course from: Physics 020, 024, 028a/b and 029a/b, or the former Physics 022 or 025, must be completed by the end of second year, with a minimum mark of 65%.

1.5 courses: Physiology 312, 313y (or the former Physiology 310 and a 0.5 course approved by the Department)
0.5 course: Physiology 314a
1.5 courses: Pharmacology and Toxicology 355a/b, 356a/b, 358y (or the former Pharmacology and Toxicology 357 and 0.5 course approved by the Department)
1.5 courses from: Pharmacology and Toxicology 206a/b, 432a/b, 436a/b, 438a/b, 443a/b, 454a/b, 462a, 466a/b or the former 442a/b
1.5 courses from: Physiology 442a/b, 461a/b, 462a/b, 463a/b, 464a/b, 465a/b, 466a/b, 467a/b, 468a/b, 469a/b, 470a/b, 471a/b, 473b

Note: Registration in Pharmacology and Toxicology 358y requires a minimum average of 75% in the previous year.

Note: For flexibility in selecting alternative modules, Chemistry 223b is recommended as an option course. Psychology 281 may be substituted for Biology 244a/b or Statistical Sciences 222a/b. The module will include 10.0 courses, if Psychology 281 is taken.
