Completion of first year requirements including the following 3.0 courses with a minimum mark of 60% in each:

1.0 course from: Biology 022, 023
1.0 course from: Chemistry 020, 023
1.0 course from: Calculus 050a/b, 051a/b, 081a/b, 091a/b, Linear Algebra 040a/b, Mathematics 028a/b, 030, Statistical Sciences 024a/b, Applied Mathematics 026

1.0 course from: Physics 020, 024, 028a/b and 029a/b, or the former Physics 022 or 025, must be completed by the end of second year, with a minimum mark of 60%.

9.0 courses:

0.5 course: Biochemistry 280a
1.0 course: Chemistry 213a/b and either Chemistry 223b or a 0.5 course in Chemistry at the 200 level or 300 level, or Chemistry 273a and 283G, or the former Chemistry 253.
0.5 course from: Biology 244a/b, Statistical Sciences 222a/b
1.5 courses: Biology 281b, 282b, 290F/G

*Of these 5.5 course, 2.0 courses must be chosen from one of the Basic Medical Science disciplines (see definition below), 2.0 courses must be chosen from either a second Basic Medical Science discipline or a combination of Basic Medical Science disciplines other than the first discipline chosen, and the remaining 1.5 courses may be chosen from any of the Basic Medical Science disciplines, including disciplines already selected.

In addition to Biology 290F/G and Chemistry 213a/b, one half course with a laboratory component chosen from those courses available in the module must be completed prior to entering the final year of the module.

Students are advised to consult with the Medical Sciences counsellor prior to selecting 300- and 400-level courses to ensure that appropriate prerequiste courses have been selected.
