MAJOR IN MEDICAL BIOPHYSICS

A degree containing this module normally requires 4 years for completion.

Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements, including the following courses with a minimum mark of 60% in each:

1.0 course from: Physics 020, 024
1.0 course from: Calculus 050a/b, and either Calculus 051a/b or 081a/b
1.0 course from: Chemistry 020 or 023
1.0 course from: Biology 022 or 023

If not taken in year 1, Biology 022 or 023 must be completed by end of year 2 with a mark of at least 60%.

Note: The combination of Physics 028a/b and 029a/b, or the former 022, will be acceptable, provided an average of at least 75% is achieved for Physics 028a/b and 029a/b or a minimum mark of 85% was achieved for the former Physics 022.

0.5 course from: Calculus 251a/b, 281a/b
2.0 courses: Medical Biophysics 302E, 303E
0.5 course from: Medical Biophysics 330F, 331G
1.0 course: Physics 201a/b, 202a/b
1.0 course from: Medical Biophysics 402a/b, 409a/b, 467a/b, 470a/b/y, 475a
0.5 course from: Biology 244a/b, Chemistry 214a/b, Medical Biophysics 330F, 331G, Statistical Sciences 222a/b, Engineering Science 036a/b or the former Computer Science 036a/b.

Students in their fourth year who will be completing the requirements of the Medical Biophysics Major will be eligible to include Medical Biophysics 480 (provided space is available), if 1.5 of the above courses are already covered by non-Medical Biophysics modules.
