MAJOR IN MEDIA AND THE PUBLIC INTEREST (MPI)

Enrolment in all modules in Media and the Public Interest is limited. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee that students wishing to enter any module in Media and the Public Interest will be offered enrolment.

Admission Requirements

Completion of all first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 68% in 4.0 principal courses, including a minimum grade of 65% in each of MIT 025a/b, MIT 026a/b and MIT 027a/b.

Progression Requirements

Minimum cumulative modular average of 65%. Minimum mark of 60% in each course of the module. In each academic year, no more than 1.0 unsatisfactory attempt in 5.0 full courses.


Module

7.0 courses:

3.0 courses required in second year: MIT 201F/G, 202F/G, 203a/b, 204F/G, MPI 289F/G, Writing 121F/G
1.5 courses: MPI 390F/G, 391F/G, 490F/G
2.0 course chosen from the approved list of MPI electives at the 100 level or above
0.5 additional MIT course at the 100 level or above not previously taken
