MAJOR IN GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SCIENCE


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements, including 1.0 course from Geography 021, 023a/b, 024F/G, 022F/G, the former 020E, with a mark of at least 60% in each Geography course.


Module

6.0 courses:

0.5 or 1.0 course from: Geography 201a/b or any statistics course at the 100 level or above (if a 1.0 course is taken, the module will consist of 6.5 courses)
1.5 courses: Geography 209a/b (or the former 307a/b), Geography 242a/b, 280a/b
1.0 course from: Geography 208a/b, 213a/b, 214a/b, 216a/b, 220a/b, 235F/G, 249a/b, 270a/b, 277F/G
1.0 course: Geography 302a/b, 379a/b (normally taken in Year Three)
2.0 courses from: Geography 115a/b, 301a/b, 309a/b, 313a/b, 342a/b, 370a/b, 371a/b, 380a/b, 383a/b

Notes:

1. Honors degrees require two Major modules.
2. Combination with a Major module in Science or Basic Medical Sciences may allow graduation with a four-year BSc degree.
3. To qualify for a four-year BSc degree, 11.0 Science and/or Science-equivalent courses are
required. When taken within the Major in Geographic Information Science, the following courses may be used towards meeting this requirement: Geography 115a/b, 201a/b, 208a/b, 209a/b, 213a/b, 214a/b, 216a/b, 242a/b, 280a/b, 301a/b, 302a/b, the former Geography 307a/b, 309a/b, 313a/b, 342a/b, 370a/b, 379a/b, 380a/b, 383a/b.

This module may NOT be combined with any Geography module.
