MAJOR IN CHEMISTRY

This module forms the core material of those degrees which have Chemistry as a main designation. It is designed to give a foundation in all areas of Chemistry without the need to specialize in any one of them.

Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements, including the following 3.0 courses with a mark of at least 60%:

Chemistry 020; or Chemistry 023 with a mark of at least 70%
1.0 course from: Physics 020, 024, 028a/b and 029a/b, or the former Physics 022 or 025
1.0 course from: Calculus 050a/b plus 0.5 course from Calculus 051a/b, 081a/b, 091a/b, Linear Algebra 040a/b (with an average in the two of at least 60%); or Applied Mathematics 026; or Mathematics 030 (with a mark of at least 80%)

Those interested in the Biochemistry and Chemistry Specialization must also include Biology 022 or 023 with a mark of at least 60%.
