HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN STATISTICS


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, including Calculus 050a/b and 051a/b (or 081a/b with a mark of at least 85%) or Applied Mathematics 026, plus 2.0 additional courses, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%.


Linear Algebra 040a/b, if not taken in first year, must be completed prior to the second term of second year. Statistical Sciences 023a/b, if not taken in first year, must be completed before the start of third year.

9.0 courses:

5.0 courses: Statistical Sciences 257a, 259a/b, 260b, 325a/b, 346a/b, 353F/G, 357a, 358b, 359a/b, 361a/b
1.0 course: Calculus 250a/b, 251a/b
1.0 course in Statistical Sciences numbered 310 or above (Either Differential Equations 215a or Actuarial Science 223a may be substituted as a 0.5 course towards this requirement)
2.0 courses in Statistical Sciences at the 400 level
