HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN MATHEMATICS


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, including Calculus 050a/b, Calculus 051a/b (or 081a/b with a mark of at least 85%), plus 2.0 additional courses, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%. Linear Algebra 040a/b and Mathematics 060a/b, if taken in first year, will count toward the 3.0 principal courses.

Note: Linear Algebra 040a/b with a minimum mark of 60% or Mathematics 060a/b with a minimum mark of 70% must be completed prior to Mathematics 200a/b.


Module

9.0 courses:

1.0 course: Calculus 250a/b, 251a/b
5.0 courses: Mathematics 200a/b or the former 203b, 201a/b or 222a, 207a/b, 208a/b, 217a/b, 302a, 304a/b, 305a/b, 307a/b, 308a/b
2.0 additional courses in Mathematics at the 300 level or above
1.0 additional course in Mathematics at the 400 level

Note: Those students who plan to apply for graduate studies in Mathematics should take Mathematics 403a/b, 404a, 406a/b and at least a 0.5 course from Mathematics 411a/b, 414b, 416a, or 419a/b.
