HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN GEOLOGY AND BIOLOGY


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, including Biology 022 or 023, Chemistry 020 or 023 plus 1.0 additional
course, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%

Additional requirements (which may be counted towards the 3.0 principal courses)
1.0 courses from: Mathematics 030 or Calculus 050a/b and one of Calculus 051a/b, 081a/b, 091a/b,
Linear Algebra 40a/b, Statistics 024a/b. This requirement must be completed by the end of second
year.

10.0 courses:

3.5 courses: Earth Sciences 200a/b, 206a/b, 250y, 260a/b, 261a/b, 265a/b, 314a/b
1.0 course from: Earth Sciences 240F/G or 241a/b, 266F/G, 340a/b, 369a/b, 400a/b, 460a/b, 461a/b, 462a/b
0.5 course: Biochemistry 280a
2.5 courses: Biology 281b, 282b, 283a, 286a, 290F/G
0.5 course from: Chemistry 213a/b or Earth Sciences 230a/b
1.0 course from: Biology 240F/G, 244a/b, 260a/b, 271a/b, 284a, 304F/G, 351a/b, the former Biology 216b or 328a, Microbiology and Immunology 220a, the former Microbiology and Immunology 450b. Note: Biology 244a/b is recommended
1.0 or 1.5 courses from: Earth Sciences 490E or Biology 499E (1.5 courses), with a mark of at least 70%.

Note: If Biology 499E is chosen the module will consist of 10.5 courses.
