HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN FRENCH LANGUAGE AND LINGUISTICS



Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, including French 020E or 021 plus 2.0 additional courses, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%.

2.0 courses in second year: French 271, 295
1.0 course in second year from: French 232E, 242E, 252E, 290E
3.0 courses: French 381, 347a/b, 397a/b, 398a/b, 432a/b
0.5 course from: French 473a/b, 474a/b, 475a/b
1.0 course from: French 476a/b, 477a/b, 478a/b, 479a/b
1.0 course from: French 383, 387
1.5 additional courses in French at the 300 level or above

Notes: The inclusion of Linguistics courses in addition to the required French courses is strongly recommended. French 290E is a prerequisite for further studies in French Literature and French 295 is a prerequisite for further studies in French Linguistics.
