HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN ENVIRONMENTAL GEOSCIENCE


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, including Biology 022 or 023, Chemistry 020 or 023 plus 1.0 additional
course, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%.


Additional requirements (which may be counted towards the 3.0 principal courses)
1.0 courses from: Mathematics 030 or Calculus 050a/b and one of Calculus 051a/b, 081a/b, 091a/b,
Linear Algebra 40a/b, Statistics 024a/b. This requirement must be completed by the end of second
year.

0.5 course from: Earth Sciences 431a/b, 440a/b, 462a/b
0.5 course: Chemistry 210a/b or the former Chemistry 226a/b
0.5 course from: Biology 244a/b, Statistical Sciences 222a/b
0.5 course: Biology 285b
0.5 course from: Geography 153a/b, 154F/G
1.0 courses: Environmental Science 300F/G, 350F/G
0.5 course from: Biology 204a, 217b, 283a, 284a, 290F/G, 320Z, 321F, 335F/G, 345F, 346b, 405b, the former Biology 327b or 402a, Pharmacology and Toxicology 356a/b, 463a, the former Pharmacology and Toxicology 460a/b, the former Microbiology and Immunology 450b
0.5 course from: Political Science 137, 235E, Philosophy 110a/b, all Geography courses at the 100 level or above, Biology 443G
1.0 courses from: Earth Sciences 490E, or Environmental Science 450F/G and 451F/G, with a mark of at least 70%

Note: If Political Science 137 or 235E is chosen the module will consist of 11.0 courses
