HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN ECONOMICS


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% with no mark less than 60% in 3.0 principal courses, including an average of 70% and no grade less than 60% in the following 2.0 courses: Economics 020; Mathematics 030 or Calculus 050a/b and 0.5 course from: Calculus 051a/b, 081a/b or Linear Algebra 040a/b.


Module

9.0 courses:

3.0 courses normally taken in second year: Economics 220a/b, 221a/b, 222a/b, 223a/b, 260a/b, 261a/b
3.0 courses normally taken in third year: Economics 210a/b, 313E, 320a/b or 316a/b, 381a/b, plus an additional 0.5 course in Economics at the 300 level normally taken in the second term.
3.0 courses normally taken in fourth year: 1.0 course in Economics at the 400 level; 0.5 course from Economics 319a/b, 328a/b, 329a/b, 352a/b, 357a/b, 370a/b, 371a/b; 1.5 additional courses in Economics at the 300 or 400 level.

Students who have completed Economics 122a/b, 123a/b, 150a/b, 151a/b, 152a/b, 153a/b with an average of 75% and no grade less than 70% may be admitted to the Honors Specialization in Economics and may be exempt from taking Economics 222/b, 223a/b, 260a/b, 261a/b, 220a/b, or 221a/b, respectively.
