APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION

Application for admission to first and second year in Dentistry must be made by completing the official application form available from the Registrar's Office for first year and from the Director's Office for second year. This form is also accessible from the admissions page of the school website, http://www.schulich.uwo.ca/dentistry/. For further information, please contact the Admissions Coordinator by phone 519-661-4074, by Fax 519-661-3875, or by email: admissions.dental@schulich.uwo.ca

The completed form, supporting documents (originals), and the application fee are to be mailed to: The Dental Admissions Coordinator, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, The University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario N6A 5C1.

Applications must be submitted no later than December 1 for admission to first year and no later than August 1 for admission to second year, and must be accompanied by a non-refundable $200.00 processing fee. (International applicant fee - $300.00.)

Applicants who have never been registered at The University of Western Ontario must:

  1. request the Registrars of all universities, colleges and other institutions of post-secondary education that they attend or have attended, to forward to the Registrar's Office certified official transcripts of their academic record to be received by the due date for applications;
  2. if applicable, request the Registrar of the University that they currently attend to forward to the Registrar's Office at Western a second transcript of their record at the end of the current academic year.

First year applicants who have completed professional courses or who are enrolled in courses preparing them for professional vocations other than Dentistry must submit with their application a letter giving the appropriate reasons for their desire to enter Dentistry.

It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the necessary transcripts or reports have been received by the Department of Admissions no later than June 15 for first year or by the Director's Office no later than August 1 for second year. Although the Admissions Committee will act on non-official reports any decisions bearing on acceptance must await receipt of the confirmatory transcripts.

Candidates with acceptable standing at accredited degree-granting institutions may be considered for admission provided that the content of studies completed is equivalent in content to the courses offered by Western, and to the requirements of the program to which the student has applied. The university will review other candidates on an individual basis. Admission in all cases is competitive.
