BA IN HONORS PSYCHOLOGY


Admission Requirements

Students who wish to enter the Honors B.A. program should complete the first-year requirements for the Area of Concentration (see above) and then apply to the Honors program.


Second Year
Principal Courses

    Psychology 280E (Research Methods in Psychology)

    Psychology 281 (Statistics for Psychology)

    Three 200-level half-courses in Psychology including at least one from the 200-239 series and one from the 240-279 series


Subsidiary Courses*

One and one-half non-Psychology full-course equivalents


Third Year
Principal Courses

Note: All 300-level courses have 200-level prerequisites.


Subsidiary Courses*

Two and one-half non-Psychology full-course equivalents.


Fourth Year
Principal Courses

    Psychology 485E (Honors Thesis)

    Psychology 385F/G (History and Systems) (may be taken in Third or Fourth year).

    Three additional 300- or 400-level half-courses in Psychology of which one half-course must be at the 400-level.


Subsidiary Courses*

    Two non-Psychology full-course equivalents


Notes:

  • * To satisfy the Subsidiary Course requirement for graduation with an Honors BA students must complete a total of six non-Psychology full-course equivalents by the end of the program. At least two of these full non-Psychology courses must be selected from outside the Faculty of Social Science. These courses may include courses at the 001-099 level.
  • A total of nine full-course equivalents in Psychology at the 200-level or above must be taken to complete the BA in Honors Psychology.
