DIPLOMA IN PUBLIC RELATIONS

The Diploma in Public Relations is designed to provide students with the practical and applied knowledge and skills required to work in the area of public relations. The Diploma will consist of 8.5 courses, comprised of twelve half diploma-credit courses and one practicum session. Students will be required to have completed a series of prerequisite degree-credit courses in Sociology and Writing in order to be considered for admission to the Diploma program.

Enrolment will be limited and competitive, and will be determined on a case by case basis by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and The Western Centre for Continuing Studies. Students in the program will be required to maintain a minimum average of 70% in all courses in the Diploma in Public Relations program, with no mark lower than 60%.

All students will be admitted to the Diploma in Public Relations according to the policies and guidelines for admission to the University. Non-UWO students must first apply to The University of Western Ontario through the Ontario University Application Centre in Guelph, Ontario. In addition, prospective students must also complete the application form for the Diploma in Public Relations provided by The Western Centre for Continuing Studies. Application forms are available through The Western Centre for Continuing Studies. Students who are currently enrolled at UWO are only required to complete The Western Centre for Continuing Studies application form.
