MAJOR IN VISUAL ARTS


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements, including Visual Arts Studio 020 and Visual Arts History 040, with a mark of at least 60% in each course, or permission of the Department.


Module

6.0 courses:

1.0 course in VAH at the 200 level
2.0 courses in VAS at the 200 level
1.0 course: VAS 281F/G, VAS 381F/G
2.0 additional courses in VAH or VAS, of which at least 1.0 must be at the 300 or 400 level

Note: For students who wish to focus exclusively on Art History, only VAH 040 is required in the first year, although VAS 020 is recommended, and the 2.0 courses in VAS at the 200 level can be replaced with 2.0 courses from VAH at the 200 or 300 level. Such students may take VAH 340E as a substitute for VAH 380E or in addition to it.

This Major may not be combined with any of the Honors Specializations in the Department of Visual Arts.
