HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN APPLIED QUANTITATIVE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (AQIT)


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, including Calculus 050a/b and Calculus 051a/b or 081a/b, Computer Science 025a/b or 026a/b and Computer Science 027a/b plus 1.0 additional course, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%. Students who take Calculus 081a/b must have a mark of at least 85% in the course. Applied Mathematics 026 may be substituted for 1.0 Calculus course requirement.

Linear Algebra 040a/b or Applied Mathematics 025a/b with a mark of at least 60%, normally taken in year 1. If not taken in year I, it must be taken in first term of year II.

2.5 courses: Applied Mathematics 213b, 261b, 310F/G, 315a/b, 325a/b
1.0 course: Calculus 250a/b, 251a/b
1.5 courses: Computer Science 210a/b, 211a/b, 212a/b/y
0.5 course: Differential Equations 215a
0.5 course: Writing 101F/G
1.5 courses: Statistical Sciences 257a, 260b, 325a/b
1.5 approved courses at the 300 or 400 level in applied mathematics, mathematics, statistics and actuarial science, physics, or engineering.
