Description: The musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, digestive, excretory, and reproductive systems with emphasis on locomotion and function.

Description: A course in general systemic anatomy followed by a detailed consideration of the head and neck regions of the human body. Special emphasis is placed on the anatomy of the hearing and speech mechanisms. Restricted to students in the Communicative Disorders Program.

Anatomy and Cell Biology 309, Mammalian Histology
Description: A detailed study of the cellular and microscopic structure of the various tissues and organ systems of the body, with emphasis on man and other mammals used in medical research. Systems are examined stressing the relations of structure to function.
Antirequisite(s): Biology 322a, the former Biology 309.
Prerequisite(s): Registration in the third year of the Biology BSc program or in one of the Honors programs in a biological discipline or the BMSc programs.

Description: A description of the structure of the organ-systems of the human body: the integument, locomotor, digestive, circulatory, urinary, reproductive, endocrine, special senses and nervous systems.

Prerequisite(s): Completion of second year in a Biology program; or permission of the Department.

Anatomy and Cell Biology 429a, Advanced Medical Cell Biology
Description: The study of the molecules and functions common to mammalian cells, the specializations that make differentiated cells distinct, and the diseases that result from the dysregulation or loss of these cellular functions. This course will cover cellular organization, biogenesis of organelles, cellular growth and differentiation from an experimental perspective.
Antirequisite(s): The former Anatomy and Cell Biology 329b.
Prerequisite(s): Biology 316a (with a minimum mark of 70%)
2 lecture hours, 1 tutorial hour, 0.5 course.

Anatomy and Cell Biology 480E, Biochemistry and Cell Biology Research Project and Seminar
Description: The course consists of: lectures on laboratory safety, biosafety, use of animals in research, scientific integrity; an independent research project (topic and advisor chosen by consultation between student and faculty); scientific communication.
Antirequisite(s): Biochemistry 480E, 483E, 484E, 491E, 485E, Microbiology and Immunology 483E, 484.
Prerequisite(s): Biochemistry 380G, 381a, 382b with grades in each of atleast 70%. Enrolment is limited, and is available only to students in the final year of an Honors Specialization in Biochemistry and Cell Biology.
15 hours per week, 1.5 courses.
