RELIGIOUS STUDIES

Approved Combinations: Anthropology, Classical Studies, Comparative Literature and Culture, Economics, English, Film Studies, French, German, Greek, History, Latin, Linguistics, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, Spanish, Visual Arts, Women's Studies.

First Year

One 020-level course in Religious Studies.

Second, Third and Fourth Years

A total of six Honors Religious Studies courses including at least one full-course equivalent from three of the following five subject areas, and at least one half-course in the other two subject areas:

  1. Biblical Studies: 201F/G, 202F/G, 210F/G, 211F/G, 212F/G, 213F/G, 214F/G, 215F/G, 410F/G
  2. Religion and Culture: 220E, 221F/G, 222F/G, 223E, 224F/G, 225E, 300F/G, Philosophy 253E, 420
  3. Christian Ethics: 206F/G, 230E, 231E, (the former 232F/G and 233F/G), 234F/G, 235F/G, (the former 236F/G and 237F/G), 238F/G, 239F/G, 430
  4. Systematic Theology: 205F/G, 240E, 241E, 242E, 243F/G, 244F/G, 245F/G, 246E, 247E, 271F/G, 272F/G, 301F/G, 440
  5. World Religions: 203F/G, 204F/G, 260F/G, 261F/G, 262F/G, 263F/G, 460 and one historical full-course equivalent from: 205F/G, 271F/G 250E, 251F/G, 252F/G, 241E, 242E, 244F/G, 247E. (A course taken to fulfil this requirement may also be used to fulfil the subject area requirement.)

Notes

  1. At least one of the 300-level or 400-level half-courses must be included among the courses taken.
  2. In a Philosophy and Religious Studies Combined Honors Program, no Religious Studies course may be used to fulfil part of the Philosophy component of that program.
