BUSINESS SCHOOL

THE UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

The Business School is positioned among the world's leaders in business education. The program's global perspective results from an increasing multinational student population, a large exchange program, faculty with extensive international experience, and an increased global perspective in core courses. Gaining and sustaining an advantage in today's globally competitive environment requires close cooperation among the different functions in an organization. Students will develop a working knowledge of each of the major business functions, so that they can work effectively with fellow managers. Accordingly, the first two years of the 4-year program provide students with a general education in the arts, social or natural sciences. During the second two years, students study each of the major fields of business.

The HBA program is taught using the case method. A business case describes a challenge or real problem faced by a real company at a critical management decision point.

The program develops strategic analysis, decision-making and implementation skills necessary to creatively build a course of action that is consistent with a firm's changing environment and capabilities. A strategic management perspective is provided in fields such as finance, marketing, operations, management science and information systems, managerial accounting and control, organizational behavior, communications, and strategic analysis and action.
