STATEMENT ON HUMAN RIGHTS

The University of Western Ontario wishes to ensure the full and fair implementation of the principles of the Ontario Human Rights Code, which states:

Every person has the right to equal treatment with respect to services, goods and facilities, without discrimination because of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, family status, or handicap.

Western has approved policies on race relations, sexual harassment, and the accommodation of students with disabilities. Information on the mandate and services provided under these policies can be obtained from the following offices:

Code of Student Conduct

Every student is expected to comply with the provisions of the Code of Student Conduct. Sanctions for non-compliance range from a warning or reprimand to expulsion from the University. It is the responsibility of every student to read the Code and familiarize him or herself with its contents. The Code is available at http://www.uwo.ca/univsec/board/newcode.html. Copies can also be obtained from the Office of the Registrar, from Deans' Offices and from Residences.
