| Earth Sciences 200a Plate Tectonics and Lithology |

Rock types and their distribution within the crust of the Earth are in large part a function of tectonics, including subduction, obduction, uplift and collapse. Lectures synthesize and explain major rock types in primary and secondary tectonic settings. Laboratories examine rocks and textures. |

| Prerequisite: Earth Sciences 020 or equivalent; or permission of the Department. |
