Course Description

Comparative Literature and Culture 130F/G International Children's Literature

This course surveys the children's novel of the 19th and 20th centuries. Works of pure fantasy as well as realistic novels are read. Novels for younger readers and teenagers from Poland, Sweden, Finland, Germany, France, Italy, and Russia are covered. All works are read in English translation.

Antirequisite: CLC 191g if taken in 2002-03.
3 lecture hours, half course.
