Course Description

Chemistry 020 General Chemistry

A survey of the basic principles of chemistry, including stoichiometry, atomic and molecular structure, thermochemistry, gases, solutions, kinetics, equilibrium, oxidation-reduction acid-base concepts and calculations, and fundamentals of organic chemistry. Intended for students who have OAC Chemistry or Grade 12U (SCH4U) Chemistry, with a mark of 80% or above.

Antirequisites: Chemistry 021, 023, 024a/b.

Prerequisite: OAC Chemistry or Grade 12U (SCH4U) Chemistry.

2 lecture hours, 3 laboratory/tutorial hours.
