Course Description

Political Science 369 Topics in Political Economy

A survey of major contributions to public choice, with special attention to current applications in political economy. Topics include rational choice models of democracy and dictatorship, voting behavior, interest groups, and rent-seeking, bureaucracy, the political business cycle, federalism and competitive government.

Antirequisite: Economics 368a/b, 369a/b.
Prerequisite: Economics 150a/b or the former Political Science 147 or 237E.
