| Physics 351a Quantum Mechanics I |

The Schrodinger equation in one dimension, wave packets, stationary states, the harmonic oscillator, the postulates of Quantum Mechanics, operators and eigenvalue equations, angular momentum, the hydrogen atom. |
| Antirequisite: Chemistry 374a/b. |
| Prerequisite: Physics 200 or the former Physics 252b, 258b. |
| Corequisite: Applied Mathematics 315a/b, or the former Applied Mathematics 300. |
| 3 lecture hours, half course. |
