Pathology 240a Understanding Disease

A survey course for students in Nursing, and Physical Therapy, as well as students from Science or other courses who require an understanding of fundamental mechanisms of common disease processes. The course discussion of the mechanisms of disease common to all organ systems. the latter part of the course includes a discussion of diseases of most of the major organ systems including neurological, gastrointestinal and reproductive. Lectures supplemented with illustrative material demonstrate how the basic processes cause systemic disease. Offered through the Department of Pathology in the Faculty of Medicine. Not a Faculty of Science course.

2 lecture hours, half course.
