Course Description

Arts 102 The Culture of the Renaissance

Interdisciplinary study, by means of team- taught lectures and tutorials, of the birth and growth of imaginative literature and the arts as the main voices of the intellect and imagination in Western Europe from the 14th to the 17th centuries. Readings in English or English translation of classics of the Renaissance, slide-lectures, and lectures on general historical background.
