Course Description

Geography 360F/G Conservation and Development

Examination of changing environmental values and their impacts on approaches to conserving nature and wildlife, particularly in developing countries; exclusionary protection, sustainable utilization, and community-based conservation; 'North-South' dimensions of conservation; ecotourism.

Prerequisites: Two full courses or equivalent in geography and third or fourth year status at the University.
2 lecture hours, 1 tutorial hour, half course.
