EXCHANGE PROGRAMS

Western Law offers students many unique learning experiences including the opportunity to participate in one of several exciting exchange programs. Course selection is subject to approval by the Associate Dean (Academic) and credit is awarded on a pass/fail basis. Application for any of the exchange programs is made in March of the preceding year.

Building on its long-standing exchange programs with both Université Laval in Québec City and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, the Faculty of Law at Western has developed many new partnerships with law schools around the world.

OVERSEAS EXCHANGES

Students who would like to study for a term overseas may choose from law schools in Australia, France, Hong Kong, Mexico, Spain, Sweden, New Zealand and The Netherlands. Canada-U.S. Law Institute Exchange

Under the auspices of the Canada - U.S. Law Institute, a limited number of students in third year are permitted to spend one term at the School of Law, Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. The program is designed to expose students to the American legal system.

Western/Laval Law Exchange

This exchange program permits a limited number of third year students to spend one term studying Civil Law in French at the Faculty of Law, Laval University. Students must complete four courses, which will count as one full term at Western. Course selection is subject to approval by the Associate Dean (Academic). Students are responsible for finding their own housing in Quebec. Some financial support is available from a provincial Law Foundation grant. Applications should be made in the second term of second year.
