PROGRAMS IN NURSING

The Western-Fanshawe Collaborative Program

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BScN) is a 4-year program that qualifies graduates to apply for registration as a professional nurse with The College of Nurses of Ontario. The program is offered collaboratively by the University of Western Ontario and Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology. This program is offered at both sites; The Western students will complete all courses at the University of Western Ontario. The Fanshawe College students will complete the first 2 years and the final term of 4th year at Fanshawe College. Third year and the first term of 4th year are taken at Western. Program requirements are the same in both sites.

Program for Registered Nurses

The Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing Degree (BScN) is a program for nurses registered with The College of Nurses of Ontario.

This professional program in the School of Nursing can be completed in 2 consecutive academic semesters of full-time study.

Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate Program

The purpose of the Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate Program is to prepare nurses with advanced practice skills who will provide comprehensive health services (health promotion, prevention of disease and injury, rehabilitation and support services, and treatment of a range of common health problems within the scope of nursing practice and in collaboration with other health professionals). Graduates of the program will be qualified for extended class registration by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
