Course Description

English 274E Canadian Literature

A study of the history of English Canadian literature from its beginnings in the literature of the explorers and settlers to its full maturity in contemporary times. The broad scope of the course enables the student to trace the imaginative growth of the nation.

Antirequisites: English 230E, 231F/G, 235E, 239F/G, 240F/G, 241F/G, and the former English 281E.
Prerequisites: At least 60% in English 020E, 022E, 024E or the former 026, and at least 60% in all subsequent English courses, or permission of the Department.
