Course Description

English 254E Twentieth-Century British Literature

A study of the developments in fiction and poetry in this century, with particular attention to the emergence of modernism in such writers as Yeats, Eliot and Joyce and with attention to aspects of postmodernist fiction and poetry.

Antirequisites: English 202E, 206F/G, 207E, 210F/G, 213F/G, and 219F/G.
Prerequisites: At least 60% in English 020E, 022E, 024E or the former 026, and at least 60% in all subsequent English courses, or permission of the Department.
