Course Description

ECE 439a/b Electrical Energy Conversion

Global energy resources, distribution and consumption. Modeling, simulation and control aspects of solar energy conversion, photovoltaic cells, solar, thermal, wind, tidal, magneto-hydro-dynamic, thermoelectric, thermal and geothermal energy conversion. Storage batteries and advanced topics in energy storage units.

Antirequisite: The former ES 439a/b
Prerequisites: ECE 333a/b, MME 234a/b
2 lecture hours, 1 laboratory hour, half course.
